Introductory Training 1

90 minutes (1.5 hour CE Credit Eligible)

(Available in person or via online training)

What is Covered?

Learning Objectives:  1) Describe how to conduct a Rapid Screener™ assessment; 2) Identify the functional behavioral and statistical elements included in Rapid Screener™ results; 3) Conduct a basic Rapid Screener™ interpretation. 4) Use the results to create a structure for building team consensus.

Overview:  Rapid Screener™ is a multi-rater behavior assessment that conducts "Smart Interviews" with up to ten raters.  It collects information about useful demographics, adaptive skills, and interfering behaviors based on the past two weeks of behavior observation.  Built-in interactive validity analysis checks to insure accuracy.  Qualitative comments may be added throughout the survey to clarify and expand on upon ratings.  Use the findings in combination with other assessment data or by itself to quickly determine intervention priorities and build team consensus.

Qualified User Status.  Once approved, Qualified Users may order Rapid Screener™ Assessments.  As raters complete Rapid Screener™, referring clinicians are notified by email or telephone.  Once all raters have completed the survey or the clinician-imposed deadline has expired, the Multi-Rater Summary is generated.

Useful Demographics:  Captures important information about raters, including, the frequency they see the child/student and types of activities involved, the time period they observed the student, whether they received assistance in completing Rapid Screener™ .

Adaptive Behaviors:  Behaviors are divided into six clusters: Sensory Motor; Communication; Social-Emotional; Daily Living; Academic/Work Readiness; and Executive Functioning.  Each cluster has several subcategories.  Raters indicate: 1) the degree of independence; 2) rate the level of importance for each cluster they have observed; 3) which behaviors should be targeted for intervention.

Interfering Behaviors:  Behaviors are divided into six clusters: Seriously Interfering; Socially Offensive/Uncooperative/Repetitive; Anxiety/Dependency; Mood/Perception/Somatic/Coping; Social/Language; and Executive Functioning. Each cluster has several subcategories.  Raters indicate: 1) the frequency of occurrence (Never, Sometimes, Often); 2) rate the level of severity for each cluster they have observed.

Face Validity Index/User Experience:  Raters have an opportunity to rate the accuracy of their ratings for each of the three primary sections.  Additionally, user experience is captured at the end of the survey.

User Friendly Excel Spreadsheet for Additional Analysis:  We create a viewing spreadsheet that clinicians may use to view/copy.  With additional training, portions of this can be unlocked for additional analysis.
