Busy times at BehaviorTech

We've been busy as bees out here in the San Fernando Valley!

Rapid Screener
has gone through some more "growing up" by "reaching down."  What does that mean?  It means that we've developed a "Zero to 5 year old" scale to create a downward extension of our tool.  Especially designed for helping parents and schools determine social, pre-academic, and behavioral priorities, we've created six new adaptive behavior clusters.

Progress Communicator is getting noticed too!  Two more school districts have begun using it for large IEP team data collection and communication. It's the only tool we know of where students actually participate in designing their own data collection tool.  Maintaining all communications in a centralized secure data base means no more hunting for that "important email."  The structure of Progress Communicator is designed to be sufficiently engaging for students, while allowing staff to quickly and efficiently report on data activities.  Parents receive information about their child in "real time."  School Psychologists and others can opt to receive all communications, or just those which indicate assistance is required.

It's Time for L.U.N.C.H.

L.U.N.C.H. Groups is a social skills program developed by Dr. Gale for children and adults which focuses on improving executive functioning skills, pragmatic language skills, and basic and pragmatic social skills.  We combine technology, activities, and client-based behavioral rehearsal.  For more information about this program, visit, Dr. Gale's private practice web site, http://www.bgalephd.com.

Our summer program consists of 10 students, aged 8 to 12, plus two Junior Counselors (13 and 16) plus three adult staff.  We meet three times per week for 5 hours each session.  Our school year program, starts late September and meets twice monthly for 2.5 hours.  Students and adults who attend our programs generally have ADHD, Asperger's or related diagnoses.   Our adult programs meet either weekly or twice monthly for 1 hour.

We will be creating a training manual, available Sept 2007, with associated CE credit training available through teleclasses and in person.  If you are interested in scheduling training, please click on our "Support" link and fill out a request or phone 818-788-2100.

New York, New York!

We had a BLAST in New York at NASP Convention.  Six thousand school and clinical psychologists attended.  Rhonda Sloan, our Marketing Director and Bruce Gale, our CEO attended and presented Rapid Screener, Progress Communicator, and generally talked about the clinical use of technology in schools and clinical settings.

One of the more compelling themes related to the concept of Response to Intervention.  In fact, the theme of the convention was "Responsiveness... The 4th 'R'."   Rapid Screener can help schools conduct an RTI (Response to Intervention) analysis for social-emotional behavior four different ways, starting with our "10 second solution," all the way up to our "90 second live data recording" system for schools, it gave us some excellent ideas for ways that we can address the issue of "treatment fidelity.

¡El Cribador Rápido (Rapid Screener) pronto estará disponible en español!

That's right! We're finishing up the long-awaited version of Rapid Screener  in Spanish.  It will be available in May, 2007.  If you are a bi-lingual psychologist or teacher and would like to help us ensure that the Spanish and English versions are the same, we will reward you by giving you a Rapid Screener assessment at 50% off the single user price.  If you are interested, click on the SUPPORT link above and use the form.

Will are currently offering the following FREE CE Credit trainings (click here for schedule)
