Custom-designed for individual
students, yet can be adapted for entire classrooms, Progress
Communicator consists of three components:
|
1 |
The
program contains a built-in customized tutorial to help
the student cope more effectively with feelings that
arise during the school day and/or at home.
Currently, this is developed as an interactive process
between the clinician, client, and other important
individuals who may become involved in the reporting or
tracking process. (See the
December/January 2006
version of The BehaviorTech Solutions Newsletter for
a case example.) |
|
2 |
Students, teachers, and parents can use the program to
inform each other about important happenings at school
or at home. From a teacher reminder to a parent to sign
a permission slip, to a student reporting that he or she
has been coping more effectively, to a parent letting a
teacher know the student did not sleep well the night
before, it facilitates timely communication among team
members. |
|
3 |
It
permits comprehensive data tracking to identify
important behavior patterns, factors interfering with
the development of effective coping strategies, and
assists clinicians and teams in evaluating the success
of interventions. |
Individualized data entry screens
are created for the student, parents, teachers, and others (see
flow chart below for demo). Anyone with proper (parent-approved)
password access may view the results in real-time.
Progress Communicator follows HIPPA compliant procedures
and is currently available as a customized application.
